Anyone doubting this six piece's industry cred need look no further than the band's mixed heritage; why they've got members from Italy, Wales and even Nigeria! Whats more, the as-yet-unsigned stars are also responsible for writing some of the best hook-laden lo-fi pop songs of this summer. Like fellow indie-pop upstarts Wave Machines, The Laurel Collective's strength is in their subtlety. Their latest single, "Fax of Death" is a quietly building lo-fi nugget that combines layers of vocal harmonies with airy ambience and a suitably jangly core melody. Their latest EP of the same name is available for FREE at their myspace. CHECK it... or sample highlight "Window" below.
